Navaratri – Day 8

The eighth day is dedicated to Maa Mahagauri.  She attains this form after destroying the demons and is also the embodiment of Goddess Parvati.  This is the most auspicious form of the Devi, as it symbolizes that whoever can understand the meaning of Maa Kaalratri’s darkness, can attain fairness in life.

Mantra: Shwete Veshe Samarudha Shwetambardhara Shuchih; Mahagauri Shubham Dadyanmahadevapramodada.

Translation: May the Mahagauri Ma Durga who rides a white Vrishaba the bull and who wears spotless white clothes and remains ever pure and also provides everlasting bliss to Mahadev Lord Shiva bestow all auspiciousness.
